Midwest Gang Investigators Association
Training Committee
Policy
The Midwest Gang Investigators Association Training Committee will compile and disseminate a list of speakers, trainers and subject matter experts. Placement on the list is based upon the speaker's methods, quality of instruction, reliability and recognition of his/her expertise. Placement on the list will not constitute an endorsement of his/her opinions. The list is maintained for the sole benefit of the Midwest Gang Investigators Association. Inclusion on or exclusion from the list is at the sole discretion of the Midwest Gang Investigators Association. Only persons on the list are entitled to state that they are registered speakers with the Midwest Gang Investigators Association. Inclusion on the list does not include permission to use the MGIA logo.
Procedure
The Training Committee will consist of one person designated by each State Chapter President.
In general, decisions will be based upon consensus of the members of the Training Committee, with any disputes arising settled by majority vote. The MGIA Executive Board is entitled to review or modify any of the decisions or recommendations of the Training Committee.
Applicant for inclusion on the training referral list must fill out the Speakers Bureau Application form and attach a copy of their professional resume. Once completed, the forms may be submitted to either the State Chapter Training Coordinator or to the List Manager. The Chapter Training Coordinator will forward the application form promptly to the List Manager. Upon receipt of the completed application form, the List Manager will forward a copy of the application to all Chapter Training Coordinators. It will be the responsibility of the individual Chapter Training Coordinators to submit the applications to their Chapter Officers for discussion and return a recommendation to the List Manager. The goal for completion of the review process is 30 days from time of application.
In the event of disagreement among the members of the committee, the Committee Chair will make the decision in consultation with the MGIA Executive Board Chair.
The list will be disseminated to bona fide law enforcement personnel, upon request, and to the Chapter Presidents and Training Coordinator each time it is updated. Requests by non law enforcement groups for speakers will be screened by the State Training Coordinators. The requesting party's information will be forwarded to all of the listed speakers who fit the request parameters, leaving the decision to respond up to the individual speaker.
Periodically, persons on the list may be sent a survey to confirm that they are still involved in training and their contact information is correct. Failure to respond may result in removal from the list.
